Halloween Photo Inspiration!

It’s Halloween today! Are you going to dress up this year?
I actually had a phase in primary school when I was pretty obsessed with Halloween, ghosts, pumpkins, witches and magic! And candy, of course.

But, do you know where Halloween derived from?
Nowadays it’s a commercial holiday, but I think that every reason to be joyful, sharing positive vibes and hanging out is a good enough reason to celebrate!

Halloween, also known as All Hallow’s Eve, most probably derives from an old Celtic festival Samhain which meant ‘’summer’s end’. It marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, the darker part of the year.
Samhain was the Celtic god of death. They feared winter and they associated it with death and evil spirits.
The Druids were Celtic priests and teachers and they would make big bonfires to frighten the spirits of evil and death. The Celts also dressed up in costumes of witches, skeletons and ghosts, all in order to scare away the evil spirits. They believed that the souls of the dead were coming back to revisit their homes and is a belief found in many cultures throughout the world.
The religion of Druids continued for a long time in Ireland and Scotland. In the 19th century Irish immigrants brought their Halloween custom to the USA and this is where it is now celebrated.

I’m sharing with you some creepy photos of mine that go well with today’s Halloween spirit. Boo!
