A Sunday Photoshoot Indoors

I have never been the type of person to shoot in a studio. Perhaps I was intimidated by all the pieces of gear (and a LOT of cables) or perhaps it was just that I liked the unpredictability of natural light, especially window light.

Studio photography definitely has its time and place, but I find chasing the last traces of sunlight on a Sunday absolutely thrilling.

My boyfriend is not the one to happily pose for a photo and most of the time he makes cringe faces whenever I take my phone out of the pocket. However, I was pleasantly surprised when he model with me on the photo below.

You might not guess that we shot this in our little studio flat. I mounted the camera on a tripod that barely fit between the window and the bed and only had 10-odd minutes to shoot as the sun was setting fast.

In Photoshop I did what I usually do: removed a few blemishes here and there, added layers of colours (with Curves) and darkened the entire image to create a more dramatic effect.
